Captain's Address

Its a proud moment for me to welcome you to our Society's Website, and more particularly to welcome our Members and Guests to another year of shyte golf and great craic. After a memorable year in 2006, where our then Captain, Kieran Ryan, with exceptional dedication and skill, led the decent from lofty heights to depths of depravity, I find myself empowered with the mission to steady the Ship, and to try and put the Craic back into Golf.

The Society is in its eight year, and with friendships well established we now find ourselves among familiar faces each time we play. The ethos of the founding fathers, play several good courses each year and keep out hoores that only want to play for prizes, has been remarkably successful. However our shared success is all in the past, and I would urge every member to strive to participate in our activities in the coming year. We will, as usual, work long and hard to ensure the outings in all cases are perfectly organised, and there is no better compliment to us than ensuring that we turn out in force in 2007.

I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Declan on his recent 'Image-Rights' Contract with Vaseline, and look forward to the Vaseline Hospitality Tent which has booked space at all the Rough Squad outings for the next three years (op-in clause for two further years based on sales). If the Visa applications are successful we should see the sunny Algarve in the Autumn again, as everyone wants to return after the success of 2005/ 2006. The details for the tour will be sorted out by the start of June and deposits will be taken then. 19 went on tour last year and it was a shyte number to work with, but to allow others who missed out last year to travel we will extend the number to 24 max.
